You can't "fix the debt" until you eliminate the debt-based money system.

Quote
Federal Reserve Governor Marriner Eccles testified before the House Committee on Banking and Currency, September 30, 1941. Congressman Wright Patman asked Eccles how the fed got the money to purchase two billion dollars worth of government bonds in 1933. Eccles answered, "We created it." Patman asked, "Out of what?" Eccles replied, "Out of the right to issue credit money." Patman queried, "And there is nothing behind it, is there, except our government's credit?" Eccles responded, "That is what our money system is. If there were no debts in our money system, there wouldn't be any money."

Being one of the largest perpetrators of "unbridled sarcasm", I appreciated this immensely.

The irony is that if you were cash strapped, you would do the opposite. You would conserve your funds, cut back on unecessary expenses and s-t-r-e-t-c-h- every dollar so it lasts longer. The morons in Washington think that the same dilemna requires us to spend more in order to save.

You can't dig your way out of a hole - YOU NEED LESS SHOVEL AND MORE DIRT!

Pressure from the center and right is getting those idiots to finally wake up.  Harry reid and Nancy Pelosi will be the death of us all!  We heard more about this during the state of the union address where they proposed a spending freeze.  What a surprise!  Unfortunetely, they are only willing to freeze spending in a very small area so it's really just more smoke and mirrors riding on top of the annual Washing"toon" Dog & Pony show.

And then they want to roll out another handlfull of entitlement programs so there goes the savings (assuming there really was one?)

Is it any wonder that Glenn Beck has gained so much in popularity?  He has never been on the poll before and he starts at number #2!

I don't know Jay Leno dropped due to the Jay & Conan wars or Oprah gave away more cars and that pushed her back up. Regardless, he is in the top 10 and that beat out how many talking heads in many different areas on the boob tube.  Someone's listening.

Here is the poll:

One of the brightest moments of the address was Michelle Obama's commitment to end childhood obesity.  That's great stuff and a worthy cause because this is becoming a b-i-g problem!  We'll eventually get so fat that we won't have any people qualified to fight in the miltary or be a cop or fireman. (I think that the Taliban is building McDonalds and Taco Bells just to move this theory along.)  Something needs to be done and I'm glad they are willing to take it on.  Get them off the couch, the computer, the video games and facebook and back outside where they belong.

No more fat!  And besides, it's really nasty to look at those flabby arms and muffin tops!  Yuck!
